Recent Activity at the Hall

Welcome to our website! If you have noticed all the activity at the hall lately, please stop by and take a look!

The past several months have been challenging for us all. Here at the hall, all scheduled rental activities were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. We are proud that during this lack of activity we were able to provide two months of free space for an organization producing medical-grade PPE. Over 250+ masks, 750+ face shields, and 400+ ear protectors were donated to the medical community.

We have also taken advantage of the quiet hall to do some freshening of the grounds and facilities. Extensive weeding and trimming of the garden beds; the commuter path between Humphrey and our parking lot is now edged in brick with a new layer of gravel; the sidewalks and much of the parking lot were pressure-washed; and the roof was cleaned. A new coat of paint will soon upgrade the exterior of the hall. These improvements along with fresh new colors in the kitchen have greatly improved the look of the hall. A hearty thank you! to all the CCH Board members and community volunteers who worked very hard to make these upgrades happen.

While the hall has not been able to generate revenue for several months, we received generous grants and donations that allowed us to continue to maintain and improve the hall. We give a special thanks to Hanson’s Building Supply for donating the paint for the interior and exterior painting projects.

Additional thanks go to Whidbey Bank and the Whidbey Community Foundation for grants designed to help with the loss of rental and sponsorship revenue.

Stay tuned. We are not done.
